As Visuals Editor for The Wall Street Journal's Business and Technology sections I work with about 100 editors and reporters in 10 bureaus to determine the visual possibilities for print and web. Solutions range from simple charts complementing the story to media-rich, data-driven interactives that are the story.

Once a visual approach has been determined, I work with a talented team of illustrators, programmers and designers, as well as photo and video editors to keep the narrative focused and the design crisp. I believe language is a critical component to user engagement.

Prior to this I was with The Associated Press, developing tools and products, training journalists on visual story-telling and helping the graphics team transition from print to interactivity and animation.

I've enjoyed work as an animator at a science-for-children site and a designer of visual learning tools for corporations such as Pepsi and Mercedes. My clients include Fortune 100 companies, government agencies, academics, museums and other not-for-profits.

I live in Brooklyn, NY with my wife and young twins.
